An important delegation of 130 professional Italian chefs gathered at splendid Hotel Baglioni in Florence Italy for a prestigious culinary kermesse. APCI, Association of Professional Italian Chefs selected Tuscany for the special award of " Maestri di Cucina". www.cucinaprofessionale.com
The awardees were selected based on their professional curriculum and contribution to the development and profusion of Italian Gastronomy.
The award ceremony was held at the Abbey of Sant'Apollonia in Florence.

Chef Walter Potenza named Cavaliere "Knight" Of the Savoy Dinasty
Walter Mario Potenza Master chef of Walters Ristorante and chef Walters cooking school in Providence Rhode Island has been awarded with the prestigious title of Cavaliere "Knight" for the Civil Order of the savoy Dinasty, for the invaluable contribution made in the fields of Gastronomy, Culture and Education.
The Civil Order of Savoy (Ordine Civile di Savoia) was founded by King Charles Albert of Sardinia -Piedmont in 1831. 
The Civil Order is a rare title bestowed only on Italians who, having devoted themselves to professions no less useful than those of the Army, have become, through deep and long studies the ornament of the State or who have through their toils been the use to the public well being. Among distinguished recipients will be found the names of Camillo Benso Count of Cavour, member of the Unification of Italy, Maestro Giuseppe Verdi and inventor Gugliermo Marconi.
